Homemade Exfoliator
I'm back!
I really want to get into blogging regularly again, so here it goes.
A few weeks ago I was trying to find\create a none oil scrub for my skin, just something simple and easy to whip together in seconds. After searching the web I found basic none oil scrubs to use which I was so keen to try out, but I literally had none of the ingredients. So knowing the basic idea of what to use I improvised with the things I had in my kitchen and out came - The Cranberry Salt Scrub!
Cranberry Salt Scrub :
Ingredients
- 1 dessert spoon of Himalayan Crystal Salt
(or just salt, but if you're like me and like the color in things and lean on the healthy side of life, using the Himalayan Salt would be lovely. It's full of the rich and raw minerals which is perfect for your body and has a light pink color to it, which makes the scrub more pink and sweet looking. You should be able to get it at your nearest health store)
- 1 Teaspoon of brown sugar
(or just any sugar, but preferably brown sugar because its more coarse and healthier for you haah)
- 1 Tablespoon of fresh lemon juice
- 1 Teaspoon of used or raw Cranberry Apple and Cinnamon Tea Leaves
(this ingredient is really what makes this scrub it brings out the deep pink color and radiates an amazing smell. It's so easy to just make a cup of tea from it and before you throw the tea bag away, be sure to put it aside for the next time you make a scrub. You can find this amazing tea at WOOLWORTHS. -you obviously can use any tea leaves but this one is simply the best)
If you feel like you need more salt or sugar or if you feel like adding something of your own just do it, scrubs are so relaxed -feel free to experiment. I once added yogurt to this scrub it worked really well, it smelled like strawberry's and cream.
Gently rub the scrub into your skin avoiding the eye area. I recently found out that exfoliating your lips before applying lipstick or lip-gloss will give it a more defined and set apprentice -it especially helps if you have dry-flaky lips..
Rinse it off with warm water and dry gently. Applying cream afterwards gives it a soothing touch. Lately I've been using Olive Oil Cream, I love it! It doesn't have a harsh perfume-y smell - so simple and elegant and it was only R25, you can get at your nearest pharmacy.
So there is my Homemade scrub! I hope this helped you or inspired you. I would love to hear any feed back if you try it...
I would also be interested in what you would like to see\read on my blog? If you have something you would like me to blog about, leave a comment!
Have a wonderful day xx

My Clothing Designs
I recently created and designed some clothing items so I thought I'd share them with you.

These designs came up out of my head and then were sketched, painted, colored, and then created onto a screen, which we made as well. Here is a little picture of one of the screens just so you get the idea -
This screen isn't mine, it's actually my teacher's. We then used fabric paint and screened it on manually.
The pictures below is my wonderful, comfy pillow I made and designed. The theme we had to work around was "Floral"
I came up with these T-shirt designs below, I love trees, and the words "Just be" so I incorporated that on them. I didn't cut and sew these shirts unlike my pillow, my favorite shirt is the white one...
~*~
Here is a picture of Claire (art teacher) and my sister and I at her art exhibition for her students.
If you're interested in joining just message me on facebook and I'll give you her details.
Unfortunately these clothing items aren't for sale haha But If for some reason you're desperate then I'm sure we can make a plan ;)
Hope you enjoyed this, maybe in the future I'll be making some more when I actually know what I'm doing xo

Last design is my dress! We had to do a sea theme. I went a bit wild with it haha
With the help of my dear teacher I sewed the dress, and chose the cut, I wouldn't really wear this dress but I'm still proud of my first ever dress.
This was the hardest to do and it took forever, and I hate sewing and needles and all that crap so it was tough haha but my angel teacher helped me so much with it. Thanks Claire!

Home-made Facial Masks
These easy masks do wonders! After doing them both every week my skin feels so soft, healthy and happy. They're natural and easy ingredients, and you can mix them up in seconds!
I decided to share my 'secret ingredient' to amazing skin with you haha
-Here are the recipes (this one I would do second if you're doing them one after another)
Fresh Coffee Mask
Ingredients:
Teaspoon of plain yogurt
Half a teaspoon of coffee grounds
Squeeze of lemon
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl..
Apply the mask to your face, avoiding the eye area. You can leave it on your face for about five minutes, because it's a natural mask you can actually do whatever you want with it, just don't eat it..
Once its settled on your face for a few minutes, wipe it off with paper towels to avoid a messy sink.
Then rinse your face off with water and apply some basic face cream...Already you should feel such a difference! This one is my favorite because I know it will always bring positive results.
The next one is actually a facial scrub, to get all those dead skin cells off your face. It helps immensely if you have dry skin..
Honey & Lemon Scrub
Ingredients:
Tablespoon of brown sugar
Teaspoon of honey
Teaspoon of olive oil (you can actually use any oil)
Squeeze of lemon
Mix together until the consistency looks like the picture below
Apply it to your face, and scrub gently into your skin. The longer you leave it on your face the more it will help your dry skin. Rinse off with soapy scrub from the store, to get the oil off your face.
This will leave your skin looking healthy and bright! You can also use this one on your legs, gives it a lovely shine for the summer!
Hope this helped you in some way. Please give me feed back if you did these masks, I'd love to know...
ENJOY
